Information on admission can be obtained from the Information Centre of the Polytechnic.
Enquiries regarding registration should be directed either to the Academic Affairs Division of the Registry or to the appropriate Head of Department/Director of School.
3. IDENTITY CARDS.
The Polytechnic Identity Card will be issued to every student attending courses lasting up to one semester. In case of loss, a student should apply for replacement with a copy of his current passport photograph duly authenticated by his Head of Department and a sworn affidavit.The application should be routed through the appropriate Head of Department and Director of School.
The application, together with the passport photograph e.t.c should be forwarded to the registrar who will forward the documents to the Director of Corporate Affairs.
A student who may wish to replace a lost identity card will also be expected to pay for the replacement.
Information on Examination can be obtained from either the appropriate Head of Department or from the Academic Affairs Department of the Registry.
5. SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY.
Sexual harassment of students is prohibited by the Polytechnic.
6. STUDENTS INDUSTRIAL WORK EXPERINCE SCHEME (SIWES).
All ND students in science - based programmes are required to go for the four (4) months students industrial work experience after their first academic year. Successful completion of SIWES is required for the award of the National Diploma. Currently, Head of Computer Technology Department coordinates matters relating to the placement of students on SIWES.
7. NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS (NYSC).
The National Youth Service which commenced operations in June 1973 was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Participation is open to all graduates of approved Universities and Polytechnics. All our HND (Full-Time) graduates participate in the National Youth Service Scheme.
Any information on the National Youth Services Corps could be obtained from the Students' Affairs Office.
The Polytechnic may award a number of scholarships to students based on academic performance and/or indigence.
Federal Government Scholarships.
Information on Federal Government Scholarships may be obtained from Students' Affairs Division or from the Federal Ministry of Education.
States' Bursary Awards or Scholarships are awarded to student's .The Scholarship awards are usually advertised in Nigerian Daily papers. Information may also be obtained from the particular State Ministry of Education or from the Students' Affairs
Various business organizations in Nigeria also offer scholarships awards to students with good academic performance. Such organizations include P.Z (Paterson & Zochonies), Gulf Oil, Shell, Elf Nigeria Plc, Mobil Nigeria Plc etc. Information on such award is obtainable directly from the organizations or the Students' Affairs Division.
9. CLUBS AND SOCIETIES.
The Polytechnic allows students to form Academic Associations, Clubs and Societies if they wish, but their constitutions and bye-laws are subject to approval by the Rector. Only registered Clubs, Associations and Societies are allowed to function on Campus.
